:: Bożego Ciała (Corpus Christi) Church, Wroclaw

I walk by this church at least a few times per week but today, I decided to take a look inside this architecturally Gothic basilica and share it with you this Wroclaw Wednesday.
The Bożego Ciała, or Corpus Christi, church is located next to the Renoma shopping mall on Świdnicka Street and is free to enter.
Personally, I like the exterior of the church best. It dates back to the thirteenth century, but the look of the present building was completed at the end of the fifteenth century. The church was partly destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt 1955 to1963. The interior looks like most other churches here in Wroclaw but still a nice place to visit, nonetheless.
Of course, any place with awesome doors gets my seal of approval!
That concludes our tour today! Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post :)

  1. There is a well known movie by Andrzej Wajda: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashes_and_Diamonds_(film) - some of the scenes were taken in this church, I think, while it was destroyed after war. In this movie you'll recognize few other locations from Świdnicka Street. But... I must warn you - this is not a light picture. Still worth seeing.

    1. I was going to mention the same thing, if u like churches - here's a little guide http://www.inyourpocket.com/poland/wroclaw/sightseeing/churches
