:: Happy Groundhog Day!

That's right, today is Groundhog Day! Yeah! This is sooo not a national holiday in the USA, but fun[ny], nonetheless.

For my friends in the US, you totally know about Punxsutawney Phil and the projection of Spring. BUT, I am guessing my friends here in Poland and other parts of the world have no idea....and you probably shouldn't unless you've seen the awesome 1993 movie Groundhog Day (a personal fave from the VHS days).

Anywho, Groundhog Day is celebrated each year on February 2. According to legend, if the groundhog pops out of his burrow and sees his shadow, Winter will persist for another six weeks; if not, bring on Spring! The legendary groundhog is named Phil and he lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. (I am not making this up). It's a big old party in Punxsutawney. A video clip of this little groundhog will premier on news channels around the US. Riveting news, really ;)

Anyways, happy Groundhog day! Here's hoping for an early Spring :)
